Becoming a member is easy! When you arrive at Mohawk Valley Mineral Mining, you will pay your yearly membership fee of $25 per person for 2024. Dig fees are separate.

Option #1: Day Digs
Day Passes to Explore MVMM
Standard Day Dig
(Our Most Popular Option)
Freedom to explore one of our many marked zones. Find a fresh spot and work your way into the dirt, searching for loose crystals OR find some promising dolostone ledge to pop open pockets with unbelievable crystals. An Official Guide will be available for light assistance throughout your Day Dig.

Check in begins 9:00AM. Please arrive prompt. Transport will take members down based on sign in times. Arrange the time for your ride out of the dig site with your guide. No guaranteed transport between the hours of 10:30AM - 3:00PM. Please bring everything you need for the day and plan accordingly.
Adult - $100 per day
Child - $50 per day
*Will be applied upon your arrival. Cannot be combined with other offers.
GROUND ZERO
Ground Zero is an affordable option to dig through fresh, untouched tailings from inside our mine. Bring your hammer and chisel to work large chunks of dolostone rock or sift through the dirt with a shovel. It is possible to discover water-clear gems, druze, and even a larger crystal. Ground Zero is situated near the parking lot, so you can be close to your vehicle.
Adult - $25 per day
Child - $10 per day

ADD A PRIVATE GUIDE
Maximize your day of digging with our optional add-on: expert guidance from our experienced prospecting guides. They'll ensure you're in the best spots, teach you to recognize key signs, select the right tools & master their usage, all while providing hands-on assistance, increasing your chances of success.

DIRT MACHINE DIG
For those looking for a productive and dirty day in the woods. The owner, Scott, will operate the excavator, moving mounds of fresh dirt for you to search through. Watch the machine do the hard work for you, then search the mixed fresh material in search of gems, goonies, and druse. Includes Day Dig Pass.
HARD-ROCK MACHINE DIG
Not for the faint of heart. The owner, Scott, will operate the excavator, tackling the tough dolostone ledge. Hammer, chisel, and repeat in the battle against some of the hardest rock in the country while searching for that pocket of crystal. Experience may be loud. Includes Day Dig Pass.

Please arrive 8:30AM. Check-in begins at 9:00AM. You will go to the machine dig area and begin prospecting. The machine will begin operating between 10:30AM - 10:45AM. Please view all service details prior to booking your machine dig.

Watch us dig for you from anywhere in the world. Keep what we find.
Engage in live mining adventures in real-time from the comfort of your own home, all from behind your screen. With every virtual dig, you get to keep anything that our expert guide finds while you watch us from a livestream (we will fill up to an 8"x8" box. Each additional box is $150.) Crystals will be shipped for free via USPS.

EDUCATIONAL COURSE
The Educational Course is perfect for beginners or those interested in crystal collecting.
Our 2-hour instruction with a knowledgeable guide offers a behind-the-scenes look at the MVMM mine, enhancing your future prospecting endeavors. Your guide will provide insights on mine geology, the forest ecosystem, and quartz crystal formation, answering your questions and offering expert guidance during hands-on digging. By course end, you'll have gained valuable knowledge and skills for confident and successful prospecting.

LEDGE-BREAKING COURSE
Join our one-of-a-kind Ledge-Breaking Course with MVMM Master Guide Jeff Apel, an experienced educator and hard worker who will make tackling the ledge less daunting. This 2-hour course introduces techniques, tools, and methods for efficiently moving dolostone ledge, empowering you to become a better prospector and expand your skill set.
